Switchin' Things Up a Bit...

I have decided to start a blog over at Tumblr. Ever since I have been following Ben + his story...I have found so many other blogs over there where people are keeping track of their weight and workouts...so so inspiring :)

I will still be updating this blog...it will just be more geared towards my running!!!

I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM DOING THIS...

YEP...I am gonna let ya all know how much I weigh and give updates as to where I am at!!! (I had a hard time awhile back letting my Boyfriend know how much I weighed so this is HUGE!!!) As you all know, I have been following Ben Davis' blog and just love how he is keeping track of his weight and giving updates on a monthly basis!!!
I guess this will keep me accountable to ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I need this!!!!!!
I think it will help me!!!!!!

Soooooo, as Ben Davis says: This is a gift to myself, and to you. Follow along and watch me lose. It's going to be GOOD.

October 1st: 187.5 (Yikers!)
October 15th: 186.5 (I lost ONE POUND!!! Yeah, Baby!!!)

MY GOAL WEIGHT IS: 135

I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit...

Here are my last two weeks of running...(yes, there was some walking involved!)...

October 3rd - 9th...only 6 six miles (not so good)...



October 10th - 16th...now were talkin'!!! Almost 14 miles and I may even squeeze in a run tomorrow morning!!??



There is this girl at the gym who is a runner...she reads while running on the treadmill!?! I just could not believe how someone could run and read at the SAME TIME!!!!!! WELL...I thought what the heck, let's give this a try...! So I picked up my latest issue of Runners World and gave it a whirl the other day and I really enjoyed it alot! I wanted to try something a little different...kinda getting bored with the tv and my tunes...

RUN, Candi, RUN...

HELLO, Friday!!! So glad you are here :)

Last night I actually RAN a 5k on the treadmill (NO walking except for warming up and cooling down)...it felt great to get some running in again :)



This morning I made it to the gym and did a power walk...



I am getting pumped up again...
I know I have shared with you in the past about Ben Davis...
WELL...I watched one of his interviews yesterday and I was thinking to myself WHY can't I have his attitude???!!! The answer is simply...YES, I can have his attitude!!!
I told myself last night...just do it, Candi...just run on that treadmill!!!!!!!!!! And I did it! I know I can run...I just need a little push, sometimes I kinda feel lazy and run some and then do a little walking in between...there is no reason for me to walk, it's just me being lazy...if I was in pain, YES...I would do some walking...so why slow down and walk??? I know I can’t run every day because my legs need the rest but I sure can run every other day and walk on the opposite days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to change my body...for me!!! I am NOT happy with myself and the way I look so why not make myself HAPPY :) and get more serious......and see GREAT results!!!
I want to lose 50 lbs......SO.BAD.

October Challenges :)

I gotta get my rear in gear...I started THIS Challenge on Nike+, PLUS I have joined THIS challenge...50 miles in October :)



I really was going to run, BUT those beers from the previous night made me really sleepy Friday (9-24-10) morning so it was just a walk...(I am A-Okay with that! Better than not going at all...)



Did some MAJOR slacking and didn't get back into the gym until Tuesday (9-28-10) and barely made it a mile :( my tummy was VERY upset!!!!!!!!



I am feeling soooooooo much better...did some running today which was nice!!!



I am just having a super hard time running in the mornings..........just don't have the energy like I do after work.......
The reason I started going in the mornings is because Troy, my boyfriend, leaves for work at 5am so I thought what a great opportunity to go in the mornings before work and enjoy my evenings :)
Hoping it will get better.......

Over the past weekend, Troy and I stopped in over at Borders...Troy picked up a couple of magazines for himself and this one for me...



I am about half way through the mag and it's pretty good :) I am really intersted in trail running!

CZ inspires me!!!

I am a scrapbooker and I follow Cathy's blog FAITHFULLY...she is what I call a "Scrapbook Celebrity" :)

Well...Miss Cathy started running and changed her eating habits back in January of 2010 and looks amazing!!! She is offically a runner now :) I love to see all her running updates on Nike+ and read all her running stories on her blog!!!

It's Monday and I feel AWESOME!!!

Monday's are usually so BLAH to me, but this Monday is different...I am feelin' great!!!

I managed to get to the gym this morning and did a little runnin' with some walkin' in the mix!!!

I am hoping to get together with my friend, Julie, to do some running outside one night this week :) Makes me a little nervous since she is faster than me and can last longer...MAYBE this will help me??!!

3 x's this week!!!

So happy that I made it to the gym 3 x's this week!!! Going to even try and hit the gym first thing tomorrow morning before my part time gig @ The Goose Barn!!!

Since I am finally feeling 100% now...my goal is to hit the gym EVERY morning next week :)

Back at it...

and feelin' pretty good :)
I believe this icky cold has finally left me and moved on to the next person!

I got up this morning and headed to the gym!!! I did a little walk/run mix this morning...



I get on the treadmill this morning and my itouch is blinking at me...20% battery life left...then 10%...YIKES! I thought for sure I had enough juice in it for this mornings workout...!
Thank you itouch for making it through the WHOLE workout :)

It was great seeing Ginger there again this morning...keep up the great work girl!!!

1/2 Marathon in May of 2012...???

Let's see...I did not get up this morning to walk/run :(
I did pack my gym bag so I could go tonight...BUT, I felt like I was coming down with a cold and sore throat during the late afternoon...so I have decided to just head home and take care of myself :)

On my lunch hour today I ran over to Barnes and Noble to read my latest issue of Runner's World! I have to say that I am so happy that I have subscribed to this magazine...it inspires me so much PLUS it has some really great tips too!!!
I also took a look at some of the running books while I was at B & N and came across this one...


Call me crazy but I really would LOVE to run a 1/2 or full marathon SOME DAY!!! You gotta have goals, right?!?!
The Rockford Marathon (and 1/2) is in May of 2011 and I would love to volunteer...it would be great to feel the excitement and get even more inspired to MAYBE do it in 2012!!!!!!!!!

no.energy.in.the.morning.

What is it with me and the mornings??? I have no energy whats so ever to run in the mornings...!!! I did a simple 3 mile walk......better than nothing, right?!?!

Walked into the gym this morning and as I was getting closer to the treadmill's I see this girl and it sure looks like my pal, Ginger...sure enough it IS Ginger!!! It was so good to see her at the gym again :)

FIRST 5k...

Well...I did it! I ran the WHOLE 5k!!! I am so proud of myself :)
The week before the 5k I ran outside and barely made it 2 miles each time...it is sooooooooooooo much harder to run outside than inside on a treadmill!!! {That is my opinion!}
It was such a great feeling crossing that finish line.
I am so thankful for my fans: Troy, Mom + Dad! They were there cheering me on!
It was so nice to see Julie, Cyndi and Mary at the race...they did an AMAZING job, so proud of those girls!!!
Still not too sure on my time??? It is somewhere between 33 and 34 mins!!!


Here is my 5k...I had a hard time starting my Nike+ and I didn't stop my Nike+ until a few seconds after I crossed the finish line...

Last Run/Walk before my 5k...



Above you will see my last run/walk before my 5k this Saturday morning...as you can see it didn't go over too well...
My legs were hurting me some...!
I know I can do this 5k...I am so nervous about it...I know it will be fine!

I have 3 friends running it too so that will be nice to see some familiar faces at the race :)

Troy will be there to support me + cheer me on AND it sounds like my parents are going to be there too!!!

I originally was on the Track Team back in my High School days (ran the mile and really wasn't that great)!!!
Back in March of 2010 I started running again...!!! Let me tell you it sure was hard to get it started...but it is going really great and I am running my very first 5k this Saturday! {click here for details}
